MeDIC O · Optical Counter
From the doctor’s Rx to the counter.
MeDIC O runs the optical counter inside your eye hospital or clinic. The glasses prescription comes straight from the consultation, so nothing is retyped and nothing is lost.
At the Counter
Every pair of glasses, tracked from Rx to delivery
- 01
Rx from the consultation
The doctor’s glasses prescription arrives at the counter from the EMR. Nothing is copied by hand.
- 02
Frames & lenses from stock
Frame and lens masters keep the counter’s stock and prices in one place.
- 03
Spectacle order
Each sale becomes a work order tied to the patient and the prescription.
- 04
Order to delivery
Track every pair from order to delivery, so nothing is forgotten on a shelf.
- 05
Billing into the accounts
Counter sales post into MeDIC’s double-entry accounts with the rest of the hospital.
- 06
Rx print for the patient
The glasses prescription can also be printed at the patient-facing MeDIC Outlet terminal.
Common Questions
Opticians and owners ask us…
How does the prescription reach the optical counter?
The glasses prescription recorded in the consultation (MeDIC C) is available at the counter in MeDIC O, so the optician works from the doctor’s exact Rx instead of a handwritten slip.
Does MeDIC O manage frame and lens stock?
Yes. Frame and lens masters hold your stock and prices, and every sale is recorded against them.
Do optical sales show up in the hospital accounts?
Yes. Like every MeDIC module, the optical counter posts into the same double-entry accounts, so the counter’s takings are part of the hospital’s books.
Can we start with the optical counter later?
Yes. Start with the modules you need now and add MeDIC O whenever you open or computerise your counter.
